This Constitution may be amended as follows:
Any member may submit constitutional amendments to the Executive Board. The Executive Board may initiate amendments.
After receiving a majority vote of the Executive Board, the membership shall be notified of the proposed amendment at least two (2) weeks prior to voting on the Issue. A two-thirds (2/3) majority of the members voting, whether through paper ballot or electronic means, as determined by the Executive Board, shall be required for adoption of the amendment.
Section 1: Three copies of this Constitution and all amended copies shall be submitted to the National Office of the American Federation of Teachers and the Michigan Federation of Teachers.
Section 2: Copies shall be made available to other affiliated organizations upon request.
Section 3: Copies shall be available to members.
Section 1: The chapter in this local and the local itself shall institute the necessary by-laws unique to the chapter for the purpose of the day-to-day operations of the chapters.
Section 2: Upon adoption of this Constitution and the MIFT By-Laws, a committee appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Executive Board will periodically meet to review the Constitution and By-Laws.
Section 3: By-Laws may be amended by a majority of the voting membership, through paper ballot or electronic means, as determined by the Executive Board.
