School/Building: MIPP Millar

Education/Background:
Russell Sage College; BS in Physical Therapy
Oakland University; MS in Physical Therapy
I have worked as a PT for 35 years now. All but 5 of those years I have been working with children with developmental disabilities. I have worked with children in New York, Texas, and California, along with Michigan. Primarily I have worked in school districts or programs similar to MISD.

Personal Information:
I was raised in Upstate New York in a family of 8 children. I am married and have two children, a boy and girl in their 20s, living in Chicago and Austin, Texas, respectively. I enjoy reading, gardening, and cooking in my free time. I also enjoy traveling to be with my children and siblings.

Personal goal for union activity:
I have chosen to get involved in Union issues in order to give back to the MIFT and to help resolve issues that are important to my professional colleauges. I fell that others who have been active in MIFT business have helped make my years here at the MISD personally and professionally satifying and now it's my turn. I find the topic of "negotiating" (in all areas of union business) very intersting and have learned a great deal of how it culminates in sucessful agreements.
